From the early 1930s until the late 1960s, Burroughes & Watts Limited published a series of small booklets called "Billiards and Snooker Teasers Explained And a Guide to Wise Spending". The booklets seem to have been published once a year, in each year apart from the war years (1939-1945).
The booklets were designed to attract the interest of players by answering various difficult questions about the rules of billiards and snooker. However, in essence, the booklets were essentially marketing tools - price lists for various items in the Burroughes & Watts' range.
Today, the booklets give us a valuable record of the cues which Burroughes & Watts made during the last 35 years of their business. They tell us what cues were manufactured and when; the retail price; and, in some cases, contain Burroughes & Watts' own description of some cues.
