This is a John Roberts Jnr Champion Cue. It has a four -pointed ebony butt, hand-spliced onto an ash shaft.
The badge is ivory. The inscription is identical to the John Roberts Snr Champion Cue, except that the words "Jnr" appear after "John Roberts".
This cue does not carry the Burroughes & Watts stamp (unlike the John Roberts Snr Champion Cue pictured on this website). It was probably made by John Roberts & Co, in the 1880s or 1890s.
Interestingly, the initials "J.R." have been stamped, in very small letters, into the peg at the bottom of the butt. I am not sure about the significance of these initials.
