The Riley Professional Cue has an ebony butt handspliced onto a maple shaft. The butt has a burr maple front-splice.
The badge is in the classic Riley tombstone shape.
The Riley Professional Cue was manufactured by E.J. Riley Limited.
Until recently, I wasn't sure of the period in which the Riley Professional Cue was manufactured and I had guessed at the 1940s or 1950s.
However, I have now been told that a former E.J. Riley employee has identified the Riley Professional Cue as a cue made in 1937 by an E.J. Riley cue maker called Tom Heap.
This information has come to me second-hand through snooker coach, John Lloydd from the Welsh Coaching Foundation. Thank you John.
